We've written these Terms of Service in straightforward language. If something isn't clear, please get in touch — we're happy to explain anything.
01 Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account, starting a free trial, or otherwise using FDM Foreman (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you are using the Service on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Service.
These Terms apply to all users of FDM Foreman, including farm owners, administrators, and any staff members who access the platform under a farm owner's account.
02 Description of Service
FDM Foreman is a cloud-based, multi-tenant Software as a Service (SaaS) platform designed for FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) 3D print farm operators. The Service helps you and your team monitor printers, manage print queues, track costs, and coordinate your farm's day-to-day operations from a single dashboard.
FDM Foreman is operated by the 83D Group, based at Linton, Swadlincote, DE12 6QH, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”, or “our”).
When you send a print file (such as an STL or G-code) to a printer, that file travels directly from your device to your printer. FDM Foreman does not upload, store, process, or retain your design files or print files at any point.
03 Account Registration & Responsibilities
To use FDM Foreman you must create an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for any activity that occurs under your account.
Farm owners and account administrators
If you are the primary account holder (the “farm owner”), you are responsible for:
- All activity carried out by staff members or sub-users who access the platform via your account.
- Ensuring that everyone using your account understands and complies with these Terms.
- Managing your team's access permissions and promptly revoking access when a team member leaves or no longer requires it.
- Keeping the email address and billing details on your account current.
If you suspect unauthorised access to your account, please change your password immediately and contact us at fdmforeman@gmail.com.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. FDM Foreman is a business tool and is not intended for personal or consumer use.
04 Subscription, Billing & Cancellation
FDM Foreman offers three monthly subscription plans:
| Plan | Monthly Price | Printer Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Maker | £9.99 | Up to 3 printers |
| Farm | £24.99 | Up to 15 printers |
| Enterprise | £49.99 | Unlimited printers |
Free trial
New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No payment details are required to start your trial. At the end of the trial period, you will need to choose a plan and provide payment details to continue using the Service. If you do not subscribe, your account will be deactivated.
Billing
Payments are processed monthly via Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By providing your payment details, you authorise us to charge the applicable subscription fee on a recurring monthly basis. All prices are in GBP and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless we state otherwise.
Your subscription renews automatically each month on the anniversary of your sign-up date until you cancel. We will not raise prices without giving you at least 30 days' advance notice.
Cancellation
You can cancel your subscription at any time from within your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will retain full access to the Service until then.
We do not offer refunds for unused time within a billing period. If you cancel mid-month, you will not be charged again, but we cannot refund the remainder of that month. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us promptly.
Plan changes
You may upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately and the price difference is prorated for the remainder of the billing period. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing period.
05 Acceptable Use
FDM Foreman is designed to help you run a legitimate 3D print farm. You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. Specifically, you must not:
- Use the Service to produce, distribute, or facilitate the production of anything illegal under UK law or the laws of the jurisdiction in which you operate.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, our infrastructure, or any other user's account.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of FDM Foreman software.
- Use the Service in a way that could damage, overload, or impair the platform or interfere with other users.
- Introduce malware, viruses, or any other harmful code via the Service.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service to third parties (see Section 7 for white-label provisions).
- Use automated scripts or bots to access the Service in ways not intended by us.
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
Your print files are your responsibility. You are solely responsible for the content of any designs, STL files, G-code, or other print files you use with the Service. We have no visibility into or control over your print files, and we make no representations about the safety, legality, or suitability of any files you choose to print.
We reserve the right to investigate any suspected breach of this section and to suspend or terminate accounts where abuse is confirmed.
06 Intellectual Property
Your designs — yours entirely
You retain full ownership of any and all design files, STL files, G-code, and any other content you create or use in connection with the Service. We make no claim whatsoever over your designs or print files.
Because print files go directly from your device to your printers and never pass through our servers, we have no technical access to them. Your intellectual property remains entirely yours.
Our software and platform
All rights in the FDM Foreman platform — including its software, user interface, brand, trademarks, documentation, and underlying technology — belong to the 83D Group. These Terms give you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own print farm operations in accordance with these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.
Feedback
If you share ideas, suggestions, or feedback about the Service with us, you grant us the right to use that feedback freely to improve the Service — without any obligation to compensate you or keep it confidential.
07 White-Label Customisation
FDM Foreman supports white-label customisation, allowing you to apply your own branding to the platform for use within your business. This means you can show your farm's name, logo, and colour scheme to your own staff who access the platform.
White-label customisation is permitted subject to the following conditions:
- You may brand the platform as your own for internal use — that is, for your own staff, team members, and operational purposes.
- You may not resell or sublicense access to the FDM Foreman platform itself to third parties, whether under your own brand or otherwise.
- You may not represent to third parties that you are the developer or provider of the underlying software.
- You may not remove or obscure any legal notices within the platform that are directed at end users.
If you are interested in a commercial white-label or reseller arrangement, please contact us at fdmforeman@gmail.com to discuss terms.
08 Limitation of Liability
FDM Foreman is a management and monitoring platform — it does not physically operate your printers or guarantee print outcomes. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- We are not responsible for any print failures, print errors, wasted filament, or substandard print quality, regardless of how they arise.
- We are not liable for any damage to your printers, hardware, equipment, workspace, or property caused by or arising from your use of the Service or any print files you use.
- We are not liable for any loss of revenue, business, contracts, data, or anticipated savings arising from use of or inability to use the Service.
- We are not responsible for the actions of third-party services (including Stripe for payments, or printer firmware such as Klipper or OctoPrint BETA).
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you in connection with the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.
3D printing involves heat, mechanical movement, and electrical equipment. Always follow your printer manufacturer's guidance and relevant health and safety practices. FDM Foreman does not replace good operating judgement.
09 Service Availability
We work hard to keep FDM Foreman available around the clock. We aim for high uptime and will do our best to carry out any planned maintenance outside of peak hours. However, we cannot guarantee 100% uninterrupted availability.
The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance (we will try to give advance notice wherever possible).
- Unplanned outages caused by infrastructure or third-party provider issues.
- Events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure).
We will not be liable for any losses arising from downtime or service interruptions, except where such interruptions result from our own negligence or wilful misconduct.
If you experience a persistent service issue, please contact us at fdmforeman@gmail.com and we will investigate promptly.
10 Termination
Your right to cancel
You may cancel your account and stop using FDM Foreman at any time. See Section 4 for details on how cancellation affects your billing.
Our right to suspend or terminate
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if:
- You materially breach any of these Terms and (where the breach is capable of remedy) fail to remedy it within 14 days of being notified.
- We have reasonable grounds to believe your account is being used for illegal activity or in a way that harms other users or the Service.
- Your subscription payment fails and you do not resolve this within a reasonable period.
- We are required to do so by law or a court order.
What happens after termination
On termination or cancellation, your right to access the Service ceases. Because we do not store your print files, there is no user-generated file data for us to return or delete. Any account data (such as print job logs and settings) may be retained for a reasonable period for legal or accounting purposes, after which it will be deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 6, 8, and 12) will remain in effect after your account is closed.
11 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time — for example, to reflect changes to the Service, our pricing, or applicable law. When we make a material change, we will:
- Update the “Effective date” at the top of this page.
- Send a notification to the email address associated with your account at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
If you continue to use FDM Foreman after the updated Terms come into effect, this constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cancel your account before the effective date at no penalty.
12 Governing Law
These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them (including non-contractual disputes) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If you are a consumer based in another part of the United Kingdom or the European Union, you may also have rights under the law of your own jurisdiction that these Terms cannot override.
